Analyse af Archie Wellers 'Going Home'

Have you ever imagined how it is to live a life with two identities? That problem has Archie Weller written about in his poem ¨Going Home.¨

Archie Weller is an author and he was born 13 July 1957. He has been allotted the Australian award-winning writer of novels, short stories and screenplays.

Archie Weller is also the man behind this incredible poem ¨Going Home.¨

The story ¨Going Home¨ is about a young adult, who is turning twenty-one years old. This young man lives in Great Britain, but his parents have aboriginal roots.

This young man goes by two names: Billy Woodward and William Jacob Woodward. These two names symbolize the two sides that he has; his first side is his aboriginal side, and when he is called Billy. He uses this side when he is the ¨son of his parents¨ and when he is associated with other aboriginals.

Billy is not proud for being an aboriginal; he is ashamed of being an aboriginal (Page 110 line 7-9). It also said in the text that when Billy meets his aunty Rose, Billy described his aunty as a very ugly woman with yellow and red eyes and broken teeth. (Page 110 line 0-3)
