Nelson Mandela was the first person to stand out and try to stop the current apartheid in South th Africa. Unfortunatly it diddn't go very well, he got arrested on August the 5 , 1962. Some suspected that someone tipped Mandelas location to the police and Nelson Mandela was arrested. He was the freedom fighter for all the colored in Africa, so there was a lot of tension and anger because he was arrested. While he was in prison, other people started standing up and defending the colored in both Africa and the rest of the world. A year after mandela was arrested, Martin Luther King stood up and held a very speech for the people of Washington, the very famous speech I have a dream is a very famous speech today. The speech was about how he wished to see the world and his dreams and how people should treat eachother. Sadly Martin Luther got assasinated and died at the age of 39. Today racisim is still all over the world, but it has gotten much better. The colored now have peace and have equal rights politically but it's still a problem in people's minds. I think the solution is to teach the kids in schools and kindergardens that there is no difference between black and white other than the colour. And if the children learn that, then when they grow up they will teach their children how not to think about other people.
