Filmanalyse af 'Whiplash'

Andrew wants to be a professional drummer, but that takes a lot. He’s a first year student at the Shaffer Conservatory in New York. Fletcher, who is a teacher, finds out that Andrew is a really good drummer and wants him on his jazz band. Andrew gets excited and he’s very grateful to be in the band, but it isn’t that great. Fletcher pushes the band to hard and insults them and especially Andrew. Every time Andrew plays wrong, Fletcher yells at him and throws stuff after him. Andrew gets more and more upset, but he still wants to be a drummer. One day the band has a concert and Andrew is late, Fletcher fires him. Andrew and Fletcher don’t talk to each other for a long time, but then the meet at a café and Fletcher wants Andrew to play in he’s new band where they play all the numbers that Andrew knows, but that’s not how it goes…

I think that the movie is okay. It’s not really good but not bad either. It’s okay because I like that there is so much drama in the movie, but the same things happen again and again; Fletcher screams at Andrew, Andrew cries, Andrew can be a drummer, Andrew can’t be a drummer, again and again and again. So it was quite boring, but still a dramatic movie, even though I thought there would be more drama.
