The Chicane – analytical essay

The short story “The Chicane” is written in 2016 by Amy Hempel. This short story is about a girl, and this girl is telling a story about her aunt, Lauryn, when she was young. Lauryn was a student at the university in Madrid, taking a year away from her home and family in the United States, in the American Midwest. One year later Lauryn met Macario. Macario is a racer and have raced for living, but he had semi-retired. The first time Macario and Lauryn met was at the racing track. When Macario met her, he was very pleasant that she was fluent in Portuguese.
