I chose this topic because it is a very attractive topic. I chose it because I know many things about Nelson Mandela. We saw a movie “Goodbye Bafana”. It was that time when Nelson Mandela was in prison. I liked the movie very much, and now I have the chance to know a lot more stuff about Nelson Mandela.
Who is Nelson Mandela?
Nelson Mandela was born 18 July 1918, and he died 5 December 2013.He was born in a tiny village. He was the former president of South Africa until he died. Nelson Mandela got in jail. After 27 years, Nelson Mandela got out of jail. Few years later, he was voted for the president.
What is Apartheid, and has it effected South Africa?
Apartheid was in South Africa for many years, there were destruction, violence and many awful things has happened. The black people had this passport, and they must had it with them, if they did not, I think they got in prison. The black people got in school, actually a different kind compared to the white people, the white people was free like birds, the black people was birds in cages, Apartheid effected South Africa by destroying the city, literally. They teared the city into two pieces. It was like when the Berlin wall came up. One side was the lucky one and the other side was the unlucky.
