Nelson Mandela was the first black representative to be selected president of South Africa. Before he became president, he was in jail for 27 years because he struggling to eliminate the apartheid system. The ANC leader Nelson Mandela, released from prison in February 1990. Two years later, the ANC was formed to fight for the rights of the black people. Mandela was firstly called Rolihlahla Mandela. He was born in 1918, he was the son of Henry Mandela.

He was selected as a president in 1994, after which he presented a new way to fight poverty, and focused a lot on charity work. Apartheid was a multicultural segregation in South Africa. Racial segregation and white rule had become central parts of South African policy long before apartheid began. In The beginning of national segregation forcing the Africans people, to live in reserves and making it illegal for them to find a job and make some money. The black People began to demonstrate to get their rights to live a normal life like the white people.
