He was born in 1270 in a Scottish town called Elderslie.
Historians think that William was son of Margaret Crawford and Malcolm Wallace but in a letter he mentions an Alan Wallace which could be his father too.
William got married to Marion Braidfute. Who later died when the English troops followed William to her house. They burnt it down but luckily William escaped but Marion didn’t. That happened in 1297.
With her he had a child who was named Elizabeth Wallace

The battle of Stirling Bridge was a part of the first war of Scottish independence.
Edward the first’s army was planning to cross the river Forth of Stirling. The safest way to cross it was to use a narrow bridge. The English army tried to cross it. When more than a thousand soldiers had already crossed it the Scottish army attacked them. The English army was now trapped on a narrow area. Before the English army even had a chance to resist against them. The soldiers start dying. The men who wasn’t killed were forced into the water where they later drowned.
