William Wallace, the main character. When his family is killed by the English, he leaves Scotland and travels with his uncle . Upon returning, he falls for a local girl whom he later marries. After his wife is killed by the English, he starts an uprising demanding justice, leading to a war for independence and his hatred against the English was higher. William Wallace, who gained recognition when he came abreast of the First World War of Scottish Independence by opposing King Edward I of England. William was a man who fought for his country with body and mind. He never gave up his dream of a free Scotland. He was from an early age interested in the struggle for independence, and when his father and brother died in a battle against the English, his dream of independence became stronger. He wore a kilt like a normal Scottish man, and his clothes and hair was dirty. William fell in love with Isabella because he saw the strength in her that he had seen in Murron. He told Isabella about his wife “I see her strength in you’’. To finish in the film, he was captured and executed.
