William Wallace was a leader of a resistance movement. He fought against England for the freedom of Scotland. He won many battles and killed many English armies. Several times the captains and kings of England tried to assassinate him but with failure. He gathered his troops in Scottish villages. He had to get as many troops as possible to defeat the English armies.

Edward I was claim as king of Scotland. A lawless worrier Sir William Wallace gathered an army of Scottish people. Edward I, who was in France, gave an order to destroy the Scottish army. Surrey took over and sent an army after the Scottish army, but Wallace continued his sabotage in the central Scotland. Surrey marched against the rebels near Stirling. He gave an order to cross the long narrow bridge. Wallace saw this action and waited until about 5000 English men were at the other side. Then he attacked the front of the English army.
