Us Danes are extremely reserved or shy when it comes to things we’re not so fond of or things we aren’t comfortable with. So, what happens when we go to whole new country when we’re only 16 years old? Let me tell you. Usually we tend to be shy and withdrawn, only answer with yes or no or I don’t know, I’m not sure or simply just shake our heads. But remember this, they’re from a whole other culture than us. They don’t care about our shyness. No. We need to learn from them, understand their culture, their way of doing things and we usually do that very well. For example, within a week at your, “new home” I’ll guarantee you’ll be a much more outgoing person, see things from a whole new perspective, but it’s hard to adapt and some of the things are not easy. That’s what is so interesting about other cultures. It can be challenging to have to speak English for a whole two weeks, especially if you’re little shy, it can be hard to adapt to all the new ways and different things.
