I checked the sky for signs of rain and set off early to make the most of the day. I had packed my bag with few necessities - a bit to eat, a bottle of water and heaps of curiosity about what the day would bring. I grabbed the bag and went out into the wilderness of New Zealand. I followed a track to a rather large hill. The hill looked very rocky, but when I got closer, I saw that there was a lot more grass that rocks. The grass was very tall and soft. After fighting my way on top of the hill, I was stunned. Behind the hill, there was a great blue lake surrounded by mountains. The air was quite lovely and you could smell mother nature. I enjoyed being on top of the hill and just looking at the magnificent landscapes, but I had to move on. The same track I followed the first time was now much clearer, and I followed it all the way next to the lake. The walk was quite long, so the hunger got to me, and I brought out the food I had packed. After eating my little lunch I stood up and stuck my hand into the water of the lake, and although it was cold, it felt nice. I couldn’t fight the thought of having my whole body covered the crystal blue water. I got rid of my clothes and jumped in. I the beginning it was frigid, but I got used to it and started swimming around a little. I was having a blast. I wanted to move on the track so I could see more of the fantastic nature, but I suddenly couldn’t find my clothes. There I was naked, walking around looking for my clothes. After a little while, I found my clothes! I hurried towards the pile of attire, but when I got closer, it started moving. I got scared and confused at the same time, but I kept chasing it. The pile was running fast, and I almost couldn’t keep up. The collection of clothes bumped into a rock and stopped, so the creature underneath the clothes could reveal itself. When I saw it, I started laughing. It was a little kiwi-bird. The kiwi got free of the clothes and ran off, so I grabbed my clothes and started putting them on, still amused by the little incident. It started getting dark, so I went home and slept a good long sleep. It has been a great day. I guess that as much as New Zealand can be impressive, it can be unpredictable.
