It is a story told by two people “Dual first person”. We have two stories told and it switches between Link and Shelters narrator, it is two parallel stories to each other.There is a connection between the persons and it is making readers like me to get expectations and sympathy for the main characters in the book - it got me e.g. to look down on Shelter when I read more about him from his narrator and found out which an awful person Shelter is. His narrator got me to see critical on Shelter. Links first person describe homelessness and got us to see, feel and understand it through links eyes. Links narrator tell us day-to-day the story of homelessness and in details tells us how awful it can be to be homeless and how it is, and tells us what can happen or the feelings like not trusting anyone, and it might feel like an army-diary reading Shelters narrator - it also got me to see critical on Shelter, when he wants to kill them.
Characters
Link and shelter are the two main characters and have absolutely different personalities.
In the start of the book, we got an impression of Shelter that he would `help` the homeless people on the streets, but instead Shelter wants the homeless people to get out of the community. Shelter had been in the army and it is a mission for him to kill all of the homeless people of London, because he thinks they are destroying the city by uncleanness and that is it not attractive for the city.
