The story is about a young boy called Link. He lives at home with her mother and step father, Vince, and his sister, Carole. Link and Vince don’t come along with each other, Vince gets mad at Link all the time, he says that he lives at his money. But Link means that Vince has changed his Mother much, and they go down town to drink and then when they come home Vince starts nagging at Link. After Links father left the family Link have done not so well in school. Link was tired of Vince and all the problems, so Link decided to become homeless. He moved out from home. He lived at the streets in his hometown for a while, but the public there weren’t used to see homeless people so they kind of a avoided him, and then it was embarrassing when Link’s old school mates went past him. So he didn’t get so much money there.
One day a week he went to his sisters place to have some to eat, but he didn’t like because of Carole’s boyfriend couldn’t like Link because he looked scruffy. At Christmas he gets a sleeping bag from his mother and sister. After Christmas Link decided to leave for London. Carole followed Link to the tube and gave him some money to the trip.
