Aboriginals: Historie og rettigheder i Australien

First and foremost, I would like to thank the UN, for this opportunity to present some insight about the Aboriginals or should I say the true Australians. I would like to cut to the chase and say that we should start by acknowledging the traditional owners of this land called Australia. Too put things in perspective, the white Australian settler, have only been on the continent for 8 generation, where the Aboriginals have inhabited the continent for 18.500 generations. I also would like for the White Australians too acknowledge the horrific treatment of the Aboriginals, from stolen children till genocide of whole clans. Cause I think if the white Australians were to taste their own medicine, their capacity to acknowledge would be an easy feat. If people are of the notion that being evil to the true Australians, is something that only happened in a distant past, we only must look to the early 1970’s, where practice of ruing families with removal policies, which resulted in breaking up Aboriginal families were at practice. Even in the present tense, Aboriginals are still fighting for shared equal rights with the Whites and that just show how difficult it is for a leopard to change its spots. It is important, that these facts are acknowledge, so that the indigenous Australians can move on, because they were the first to inhabitants of the great continent Australia. We must not forget about the rich history they have with this continent and that we have to acknowledge that history. We must look for a brighter future where Whites and Aboriginals are Equals and live together as one people. Because the Whites have made Australia what it is today, but the true Australians have lived in it, in a truly pure state of nature with the land, as Captain Cook stated it. Not spoiling the country’s/continents nature and fauna, like the white Man, but instead learned to live in perfect harmony with their land and its resources. Therefore, it’s time for the Australian government to go back to the drawing board and figure out how we acknowledge the aboriginals in a descent way. For in the end we are all in the same boat, sailing against a mutual future. My fear is that acknowledging the past is to difficult for some, so all I do is hoping for a blue moon.
