AustraliaHello Thomas! Now I have been in Australia for three weeks, so I have a lot of stuff to tell you about this lovely country. In the first place, the trip from Denmark to Australia is very long, it takes about 24 hours.I think it’s a long time to sit in a plane, and I find it difficult to sleep in a plain, so I was really tired when I got over here. My first impression of Australia is very good, it is a beautiful country; it has an amazing nature, a lot of exciting animals, and a beautiful landscape. I find the history of Australia very exciting. I think it’s very exciting that Australia may well be the home of the world’s first people; the first people were called aboriginals. Some experts are saying that humans lived in Australia twelve thousand years before they appeared in Europe. The environment was also a lot better at that time. The aboriginals were very good at hunting. It was only the men, who were hunting. The woman took care of the rest. They were making dinner, taking care of the children and so on. After World War II, all rights were taken away from the Aboriginals and attempts made to 'Europeanise' them. The first European on Australia was a Dutchman named Willem Janszoon, As I already mentioned, Australia has an amazing nature. For example Australia hasn’t been changed by upheavals since earth began. It also has some amazing Rock formations. The wildlife is also outstanding; the Danish wild life is nothing like the Australians. Many people would recognize these animals: the koala (a small bear) Kangaroo, Dingo (a dog who doesn’t bark), but the wildlife also has many unknown animals like: the Bilby (it look like a rabbit with big ears) Numbat (They have a red fur coat, with seven white stripes) Tasmanian devil (Has a black coat, can grow about 60 cm long)Australia has about 122972 species of wildlife. The Australian season is different from the European season. When its winter in Europe and North America, its summer in Australia, and when its summer in Europe and North America, its winter in Australian. I have also been visiting Sydney. Sydney is the largest city in Australia, but not the capital. I think Sydney is the most popular city in Australia, and many people know Sydney because of its opera house. The Pritzker Prize citation stated:‘’ There is no doubt that the Sydney Opera House is his masterpiece. It is one of the great iconic buildings of the 20th century ’’The opera house is designed by a Danish designer named Jørn Utzon. It is hosting over 1.500 performances, 1.2 million visitors each year, so it’s one of the busiest performing art centres in the world. So I have experienced a lot, and I know a lot about Australia now. I recommend you a trip to Australia, because it is so different from Denmark, and Europe. I’m looking forward to see you again in Denmark.
