#MeToo was started in 2006 by Taran Burke, but in 2017 was resurrected by singer and actress Alyssa Milano on Twitter in the wake of the accusations of the Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein's sexual violations of women in Hollywood. Lots of women have since under #MeToo shared stories about abuse, violations, sexism and rape on the social media and in the established media. At the same time make big groups of women forward with joint appeal against sexual harassment, including many in the creative industries.
