“Sorry of my English” is an extract from “A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers” by Xiaolu Guo, from 2008.
The text is about a young Chinese girl, who is traveling from China to London to fulfill her parents’ wishes who believe will ensure a better life for her. The text describes her suffering with language and the big difference between her mother tongue and English.
The grammar is quite different from Chinese grammar, the way they talk and live, even the clothes they wear are all weird to her.
