Hilly is afraid of the black people, because she thinks they are dirty and they do not belong in a white household. She is very manipulative and she will do anything to get her way. She acts like she is the leader of the bridge club, because she is so popular amongst the other women. Hilly does not work, but she has child as her responsibility, but she is not looking out for her.
