The book “The curious incident of the dog in the night-time”, is written by Mark Haddon. It was published in May 2003. The title of the book is actually inspired by the quote of Sherlock Holmes’ short story, “The adventure of silver blaze”. The head person is a very big fan of detective Sherlock Holmes, which comes to life in the book.

The book is about a 15-year-old boy named Christopher Boone. He has aspergers and sees the whole world in a completely different way than we do. There was a night where Christopher saw the neighbors’ dog in the garden. It was clearly murdered. But who did it, and who could be that evil? That was the big question we followed to the answer throughout the book.

Some of the most important characters in the book is: Christopher’s mom and dad, called Ed Boone and Jude Boone. His dad is standing all alone with Chris, because his mother Jude, died of a heart attack… or that’s what Christopher thinks.

Then there’s Mrs. Shears (Eileen Shears) which is Christopher and Ed’s neighbor. And there is Mrs. Shears ex-man Mr. Shear (Roger Shears).

Chris has a lot of difficulties, because of his aspergers. The only person he feels really understands him, is his schoolteacher. She’s called “Siobhan”. Her job is to make him grow in the life but also academically.
