Lyndon B. Johnson was born in Stonewall, Texas. He was born on 27 August 1908. His mother was Rebekah Baines and his father was Samuel Ealy Johnson Jr. which was an American businessman and politician. Lyndon also had 4 younger siblings, Sam Houston Johnson which also were a businessman, Rebekah, Josefa, and Lucia. He met his wife Claudia Alta Taylor on a trip home to Texas and almost immediately decided that she was the one. They got married on November 17, 1934, and got 2 daughters, Lynda Bird, and Luci Baines. Lyndon decide to go for a higher education after going to Johnson city high school, so he went to California with a few friends where he did a bunch odd jobs where one of them was elevator operator. One year later he went back home to Texas.
Lyndon B. Johnson was John F. Kennedy’s vice-president. When JFK, unfortunately, died Lyndon became the 36th president on November 22. 1963 and was left with a nation in tears. His vision when becoming president was to build “A great society”. Lyndon was president from 1963 to 1969 and did many good things like the civil rights act, Medicare and the voting rights.
