The American Dream: udvikling gennem tiden

The vision of the American dream is very different from what it was in the 1900s.

But how many chances has “The American Dream” been through and how much did it change?

The American Dream is based on The United States Declaration of Independence who tells that “all men are created equal” with the right to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”.

Everybody dreams about something. Some about having a family and others want to be economic stable. Everybody want to be independent and take responsibility for their own lives and then start living The American Dream.

When the American Dream started to grow and extended to mean many different things to many different people, the popularity started in 1931, when a famous writer and historian named James Truslow Adams wrote about The American Dream in his book called “The Epic of America”.

In 1930s The American Dream was simple and wasn’t about getting the new great things like iPhone and expensive cars. At that time, it was about the social platform, about getting approved for what and who you are. It’s about which person you are working to become. You can work yourself to the top regardless of social class or gender. It’s all about that placement you work yourself up to and earn by your own properties.
