Analyse af filmen 'Bloody Sunday'

I will analyse the movie “Bloody Sunday”. The movie is instructed by Paul Greengrass and appeared in Denmark on the 31 October 2003. The movie is about the conflict between North Ireland and the British. The situation is today known as “Bloody Sunday”, because the British army is beginning to shoot at innocent people.

I will examine setting, time, mood, atmosphere, characters, plot in the movie. I will use the shortstory analysis to analyse the movie.

Analysis on the movie:

Setting:

The movie takes place in North Ireland in the town Derry, here is the social environment middleclass to upper class. The people in the movie wears nicer closets than usual, and their language is more formal.

Time:

The movie takes place in January of 1972 and was in the middle of the civil war between Ireland and England. The civil war is known as “The troubles”. The film takes place over two days, which is Saturday to Sunday, and on Sunday the British army shoots innocent people.

Mood and atmosphere:

The mood in the movie is sad and serious, because a lot of people dies. The streets appear very dark and decayed, there are concrete sections everywhere. Dark colors are used to make the movie appear more sad.
