I have chosen the topic fur in fashion industry because it is a much debated topic. This is a topic where losts of elements are important factors. Fur production is a topic that prepares the ground for discussion, because of the different point of views. This is not least about animal cruelty but also sustainability, money and the environment.
fur production is a great source of income in Denmark, but I don’t like the idea of animals living in cages just waiting for us to harvest their skin.
I chose to work with this topic to find a solution or to be more sure around my opinion about fur. Fur farms are cruel to the animals but what about the chickens who produce our eggs and what about the meat that we eat. Animal cruelty is to be found everywhere. This is just one little peace in a puzzle, but for me it is a question about what’s necessary to us and I don’t think that fur is.
Fur in fashion industry
Fur is one of the most sustainable materials, which leads too high demand. Fur has been at the fashion market for a long time and has always been a trendy thing to wear. Besides, fur is durable and does not even need to be washed. Fur is all natural material and therefore totally biodegradable and you can recycle it. This all explains why fur is expensive like crazy and why some people might invest in fur. As you can see fur is eco-friendly and buying it seems like a good deed, which It is partly. Buying fur might save some of the nature but then it kills some too, namely the animals.
