The article “Hidden cost of cheap chic” deals with the problem about the wage to the people in Bangladesh who make the cheap clothes.

“Nazmul, 24, whose job is to stick?pins into shirts, said he regularly?worked more than 80 hours a week,?with only one day off a fortnight. With overtime he makes 2,400.taka?($33) a month. "If a big order comes?in, we have to work. [In Britain] you?get three-for-two offers. It is we?people who have to make the third?shirt for you. There's no choice. We?just get shouted at. There are others?who will take my place if I do not work," Nazmul said.”

According to the article the workers get paid less than 10 cents an hour which is barely enough to make a living and provide for their family.

One of the problems is the price on some of the clothes and all the discounts and good offers. If we look at the great example, Nazmul from Bangladesh came with, you can get three-for-four offers not only in Britain but many places around the world. Almost every store has that kind of offers. It is people like Nazmul who have the responsibility to make the shirt people will get for free and they don’t have a choice. Everyone who lives at his village or area is so desperate to get a job and people will take what they can get, so if he refuses to do it the employer will just fire Nazmul and find a new one to work for them in no time.
