Bladder cancer has been a problem for the 59 year old June Burns, during the past 25 years. Recently she discovered that it was not only her father who suffered from the illnes. She was infected. Since her fathers death, she has been an active member of the “Voluntary Euthanasia society” in New South Wales. The cancer was taking over her life, and she wants to part ways with this world. Since the law is against ‘active euthanasia’ she is in for more trouble getting her self killed(!). She advertises all around, and even gets an interview in the world known program: “Sixty minutes”. The advertising had major impact on the public opinion, and some lawyers claim that 70-80% of the population is supporting the euthanasia. Australia had its first ‘voluntary euthanasia’ law passed through in 1996, but it was later stopped by the goverment. They did not manage to kill more than four people in the eight months when it was in force. By telling the public about her illnes and her pain she gets a lot of backup. Positive backup.
Should voluntary euthanasia be legalized in Denmark(2):
Danish inhabitants are living a very good life compared to people from the developing countries, most people in Europe are in fact living with house, car and other luxurious objects. Opposite to the poor people in the world, who has not got the possibility of chosing their lifestyles. We can almost manage to control our lifestyles completely. We are acting like gods!
