'The Great Gatsby' filmanalyse

The Movie, The Great Gatsby is a story told by the character Nick Caraway. It’s about him moving to West egg, a place outside of New York. There he becomes familiar with a man called Mr. Gatsby who is Nick’s new neighbor. Gatsby is an extremely rich person, who also hosts the biggest parties in the area, which everybody can attend to, people from near and far comes to his parties to have a good time. Gatsby has a very special love for a girl called Daisy, and the reason for all the parties he hosts, is to see if one day, she might attend to one of them. Daisy’s husband Tom Buchanan is also very rich, but he is not exactly the greatest husband. He has a bad habit, which indicates him cheating on Daisy. Daisy knows, but she do not care too much about it, because she do not really love him that much.

Gatsby seeks help from Nick, because he has got a good relationship to Daisy and Gatsby takes advantage of that. Therefore, Nick reunites the couple and that day they started having an affair after a 5-year break. One day Gatsby was invited to lunch at Tom and Daisy’s place. It is a bit heated during the lunch and then they decide to drive in to the City, where they planned to book a hotel room. It ends with Tom and Gatsby fighting over Daisy, and Tom kicks both Daisy and Gatsby out. During Daisy and Gatsby’s ride home, they commit a terrible crime accidentally, and drives down a woman called Myrtle, who also happens to be a girl Tom had an affair with. Tom and the others makes it to the place of the accident shortly after and when he heard the description of the car that drove Myrtle down. He knew it was Gatsby, and so did Myrtles husband. It all ends terrible with Mr. Gatsby being shot dead in the chest.
