A Letter About Superstition and Bad Luck

I hope you are feeling well in USA and that you’ve already made some new great friends!

I’m sure you that you are enjoying your life right now and that you are having the greatest time, but I would like you to be very careful and to be very aware, so you won’t get hurt or do something you will regret. I’m sure you’ll keep safe! We miss you a lot, back here in Denmark and we wish you the best luck in the next year.

Today something strange happened; a black cat walked across the road and a couple of hours later I broke a mirror. Isn’t that odd? I’ve heard that if a black cat walks across the road, you’ll get bad luck and if you break a mirror, bad luck will follow you the next seven years. I don’t hope that’s what happened to me. Maybe I’m just being superstitious, I don’t know, but I think I’m in quite bad luck right now, because everything I did today went wrong. I fell off my bike, I dropped a plate, at supper I spilled water at the dinner table, my television wouldn’t start and my best friend cancelled meeting me. It’s like being in a bad horror-movie! I’m just waiting for the monster to eat me...
