Help us to create a better future for homeless teenagers

Homeless teenagers are in danger but with through mutual understanding and funding – we can make a difference.

[NAVN A] – 20.09.2015

Help for Homeless Teenagers Network

HHTN, (Help for Homeless Teenagers Network), is a group who helps troubled teenagers, that do not have any place to sleep or do not have the opportunity to live with their own family for some reason. They give these teenagers shelter so they do not end up in the streets with nowhere to go and thereby at least help them by giving them a place to sleep. The concept behind this project is to motivate these teenagers so they can achieve what they want in life and make them overcome the problems, so their current problems don’t have an effect on their future. Experiences with the projects from these centers, has been very successful and actually, HHTN has opened five residential homes before for the vulnerable teenagers. Now they are preparing to open home number six! Unfortunately, some of the local people from the area are coming with objections.

Objections raised by local people

In an interview some of the local people and some of the residents in the area expressed their opinion regarding the new residential home. What can be concluded by the interview is that they are not open-minded and some of them have bigoted attitudes against teenagers. They mention in the interview, that they are afraid of shopliftings, vandalism, bad behavior in local schools and other things, that they think the opening of this residential home and having these teenagers living in the area will cause.
