I doubtlessly would not need to say anything else than the name of the instructor: Sam Mendes. By this time, you would already think the movie was great if you know who he is and if not, then I can tell you that Sam Mendes, not to be confused the Shawn Mendes, is a film instructor who has instructed great movies like Skyfall before. However, this time, he outdid himself. February (1917) is, without a doubt, the best movie I have seen in a while. The film follows the story of two British soldiers' extraordinary journey in the First World War. These two corporals (Blake and Schofield) are told to travel through the (hopefully abandoned) German territory. With them, they have a letter containing an order to stop an attack. The reason they have to stop the attack is that the Germans allegedly should have retreated for tactical reasons, and they are planning on the British attacking. At first, this seems like an impossible task for Blake and Schofield, two young men, but Blake has a never-ending drive because his brother is a part of the attack group of 1600 men who all will die if they fail to deliver the message in time. They travel thru destroyed landscapes encountering traps, dead bodies being eaten by rats, a city in ruins, and much more. Of course, the movie also contains a few surprise attacks on the journey to spice it up a bit.
