Kids love advertising. Children today is more mature and cannot be so easily manipulated.
I do not believe the advertising industry to blame because they have the right to advertise their products. The advertising industry does not force us to buy their products, it is the parents who decide whether they can say no to their children.
Tweens is from an economical view of point, a very interesting group, as they a lot of the commercial in the televisions and on the internet. And as we progress in time, the age scale for certain products as for example – iPhones – or phones in generally is getting much lower now than it was 15 years ago. Is that because of the commercials that we see practically everywhere? Should there be some prohibition or regulations on commercials?
Commercials should be limited, and taken away from traditional children channels like Nikelodeon or Disney Channel. Because traditionally the mood swings, the anger and all the things you normally associates with teenagers has suddenly also been seen in tweens. And I think big corporations try to use that in manipulating young people to buy their products.
Prohibition should be put on commercials, a regulation could be that you cannot send adult commercials before 9’o’clock
