When I started my month at Camp Lakeside, I didn’t know what to expect. How would I give the children memorable experiences? How could I contribute? As it turned out, I learned so much from interacting with children from different cultures. Let me tell you about some of my experiences.
The first day at the Camp Lakeside, I made a little game with the children. I thought that the children should got to know each other, so I asked the children to make a circle and say their name and find an animal that starts with the same letter as themselves. The children were very good at it, and it seem as though that they liked the game.
An experience I clearly remember was the ride in the wood. The children’s rode on small ponies and the adults rode on big horses. At first everting seems to be perfect - the children had fun and the weather was good. But then my horse start to run really fast and I couldn’t control him anymore, so I fell of the horse. Fortunately I landed in some soft grass, so I wasn’t hurt. Everybody start laughing at my, and I laugh to. I came fast on the horse again and we rode home.
