While the need for the newest, trendiest, cheapest fashion and clothing from consumers, IS at its very greatest so is the need and necessity for climate change. Some brands have new collections every season, and some have new clothing and collabs every month and even every day. Take NA-KD as an example, a Scandinavian brand that has 5-15 new pieces of clothing every single day, can you imagine how much pollution that is? Who even needs that much clothing? (NA-KD, 2020) Anyway, this is called fast fashion, fast to produce, fast and cheap to buy! Oh, and you’re tired of it fast anyway. You could compare fast fashion with Ritzer’s McDonaldization theory. Fast fashion delivers a large amount of clothing in a short amount of time and even cheaper, therefore it equals quality just as the theory of McDonaldization. The fashion industry is by far, one of the most polluting industries across the world - can this change and, is the fast fashion industry willing to do so? (UTC, 2020)
