Today I will be talking about fast fashion and the damage it does to our environment. I will also be talking about climate change and business ethics.
What is fast fashion you may ask. Fast fashion can be described as cheap clothes that are trending easily. It takes inspiration straight from the runway or celebrities. Fast fashion is a way for companies to make more clothes, faster and cheaper. It’s also cheaper to buy, so more people can afford it. It is called fast fashion because it’s often low-quality items that get thrown away after a few uses.
Fast fashion became really popular in the early 2000’s and today you probably shop in a fast fashion store. Stores as H&M, Zara and ASOS are fast fashion stores. So, you may think about that next time you are out shopping clothes. If you are curious about how you identify a fast fashion store or in general just want to know more about it, there is this article you can look at.
