Today was a tough day, we the Northerners pushed forward and secured most of the northern lands. Even though, we lost many brave souls who honorably sacrificed their life in the process, to honor those souls we have vowed to never give up and to spread our wishes and intentions across the states. My brother, the only companion I had in my life was tortured then murdered because of his ethnicity and beliefs. He was taken away from me and was enslaved for the past 15 years. His death opened the eyes of many as his story and the stories of the other unfortunate ones who went through the same path was told throughout the Northern lands which made us realize how harsh, cruel, and miserable the world we live in is. Throughout the years I have surrounded myself with people I consider as allies and to this day we fight alongside to make this world a better place. Our objective is to eliminate slavery and forbid it. I have high hopes for accomplishing our mission and secure a better future for the upcoming generations, so they can live a peaceful life without discrimination, inequity, and to avoid the mistakes their ancestors have made. We began to recruit civilians that are willing to fight for the freedom and for the rights of black people. Furthermore, we want to be treated as their equals and secure a bright and unrestricted future for our children. Thanks to our republican president Abraham Lincoln who supports banning slavery in all the U.S. territories, we have received financial support as well as welfare aid. We have benefited from his support in many ways. In addition, the support has increased our will and motive to achieve our objective. However, my frustrations are that we wouldn’t be strong enough to compete against the southerners since they outnumber us, have most of our soldiers captured, and that more innocent brave souls would be lost in the process. Lastly, I have high expectations for overcoming this issue so that we can be treated as equal as white people, live a free life without living in fear ,discrimation, segregation, and ensure a better life for our future generations.
