The Flaming Cross: resume og refleksion

The story is about a young woman her name is Jane. Jane is a very clever woman who wants to be I doctor and help people. When she was going at school, all the other students teased her because she was so clever, and not normal. However, she did not care. She did not help people for the money but just to help, she could earn a lot of money back in New York, by helping the rich people. Instead took she to Hicksville. Hicksville is a little town in Alabama, in the south U.S.A. She helps poor people there and one day she goes down to one of the families to see to them. When she come over to the mother, says she that her bay is sick and don’t wont to eat the food. She says that the child is starved. She also said that the child must have special. But the welfare office will not give her any money. Therefore, she gave them some money and left. She drove over to the welfare office. She walked directly into the office were the boss was. She asks why the Carter family not cut get any money. A little man was sitting in the office his name was Mr. Murk. Mr. Murk was a little thin man, whit dark eyes. He had a small squeaky voice and a small mouth. He told her that they could not give money to every family who came in. When he was finish, he advised her to get out of town. She sent a letter to the State capital. She did not get an answer. But whit the time she forgot. She was very busy at the time. One day a young girl came in, her name was Sammy Jo. She told Jane that she was pregnant, and did not wont to have the child. She also told that her parents most never no. Then she told about her father, his name was Al Conner, but also called Big Al. Then Jane gave Sammy Jo a piece of paper whit an address on an abortion clinic was she cut gets rid of the child. A few weeks later, there came more women’s to get an abortion, and of cause, she help them. Then she came home from work she was happy, she could relax now. After some time the phone started ringing, she picked it up. There was no answer, a little later there was a voice a man said that she not should kill more baby’s or she would die. She threw the phone away and went to bed but she could not sleep. Later a young girl on 17 came in should have a baby and of cause didn’t wonted it, so Jane helped her. Now the Klan would come and kill her. The next week nobody talked to her anyone came to be helped, she was all alone. Then she remembered Dean. Dean was one that she hat mead the first time she came to Hicksville. She drove over to him. She wanted him to help her. But there was not anything he could do. Jane wanted to go to the police, but Big Al was the sheriff. Big Al is one big fat man whit small eyes like a pig, he is very evil, and all that he don’t like he kill. Dean drove her over to her house to take some things and get out of the city. But when they came to the house, the whole Klan was there. Dean throw a blanket over her so the Klan couldn’t she her. They drove through the big crowd and then they did that Big Al throw some dynamite through the window and destroyed the house. Dean and Jane came out of town and came to a roadblock it was some members of The Klan. Dean stopped the car, talked whit then for a moment, and drew so again. After some time they came to Clearwater. Dean carried Jane over to the train station. He walked again because he should have a ticked for Jane. Then he came back he tolled Jane that he also was against abortion and that he also is a member of the Klan. He just helped her because he liked her. The last thing he said was “Jane, I wish” and then he walked away. Jane climbed onboard the train, found a seat and sat down. He looked out of the window, the platform was empty. She closed her eyes at let the train carry her home.
