I am so happy, that we and our families are celebrating Christmas together this year. It will be so fantastic.
I’ve been looking forward to it for quite a long time and now there is only 10 days to Christmas. I’ve never tried to celebrate Christmas abroad. It will be so exciting to celebrate Christmas in Florida. I imagine, that you and your family celebrate Christmas completely differently than in Denmark.
In Denmark we celebrate Christmas on December 24th. We eat good food, like roast pork, caramel potatoes, duck, red cabbage and a lot of other food. But the best part of it all is the dessert. We eat Danish rice pudding with almonds and cherry sauce, it tastes so good. The Danish rice pudding is also a game, and it is so funny. After the dinner, we dance around the Christmas tree and opens Christmas presents. But the best thing about December 24 is probably the evening when we usually play board games, it´s so cozy.
I think, I will take some board games with me to Florida, because this is my favorite tradition. I’ve been researching a little bit about Christmas in Florida, but I don´t know if that´s right, so I hope you will help me. Is it true that you first celebrate Christmas on December 25th? Or is it just the day, you open the Christmas presents? And is it true you eat turkey, goose or cooked ham at Christmas eve? Or am I completely wrong?
