Dear delegates, students and fellow global citizens. I am very grateful to be here today I have been looking forward to this for a long time, and I have a lot of points to make for you guys this evening. Since the 7th grade, I have always thought about the climate and wondered why no one does anything about it, politicians always promise the world. But then they just make a “plan” that is due 10 years ahead of current time. And I know that we can’t save this planet in one day, but we need to see more change than we are seeing right now.

I became aware of climate issues by watching the news in which they talked about their well-known "Paris Agreement, and it's a good plan if something actually happened. I'm tired of them promising so much on TV and then you can't tell the difference on how things are done in this world. Although I often see small changes in everyday life, such as the politicians banning plastic straws plastic. Like really? I know it’s a change and it is good that they’re doing something, but why not do something with a bigger impact. One thing that we are good at there is sorting trash and recycling. That’s is one big step in the process of saving this planet. but how about a little more speed? Politicians fly around the world to spread a message about climate issues, but don't act nearly as much as they talk. We still drive around in gasoline cars and still cut down hundreds of thousands of trees every single day. The ice is melting and more and more natural disasters are happening all around the world. But no one is yet to take a huge step forward and say what is needed. I want to make a difference myself, in this crisis that we are currently undergoing. And I think you should too. I think you should start by looking into what you can do yourself. If everyone starts by looking at what they could do, everything would be faster and we would see a bigger change than we have seen so far. Personally, I'm even thinking more about recycling and sorting all my garbage. I don’t change phones every year and I drive everywhere I need to go. Then I know that I have done what I could, and that’s a great feeling. There is also the possibility of strike action, a method that has already been adopted in many parts of the world. Where children don't go to school one day a week to make the world aware of the problem. When the young people started doing this it made the politicians of the world realize how serious this really is. And I know everyone that is here tonight, is with me. Let’s make something happen. Next time you see a plastic bottle at the beach, go pick it up. It is those small things in your everyday life that makes a difference. If we Youngsters work together we can be more effective than the politicians, and by that make them do something with a big impact.
