Last year I was on Youth Island. It is a camp on Murran. I was at the camp for a week with 200 other teenagers from all over the world. We did so many fun activities. The first day at the camp we did team building, it was fun and gave us a good team spirit in the group. Some of the teambuilding tasks were to read coordinates as a team. We did bow combats, rappelling, tug of war and we had to build a raft. The reason I attended Youth Island was because I wanted to explore myself in many fun and exciting activities. I wanted to get life memories with the other teenagers. I thought that Youth Island could be a place for raising awareness about important social or environmental issues. There were many activities to choose from, such as Yoga, cooking, poetry, drama and so on. One of the things I chose was a cooking class where we learned to cut out different kinds of food and cook it on a fire. I also attended a music class, where I learned to record music, write lyrics, and read sheet music It was very cool to learn so many new things about the world of music. I became good at singing both rap and pop songs and this really got me out of my comfort zone. The reason for this is that you cross many boundaries because it is very anxiety provoking to stand in front of a crowd and sing, but it was cool to do. In this class especially I made a lot of very close friends, I assume it was because we were all out of our comfort zones, and that brought us closer.
