Hello, all readers and welcome to day 22 on board Lord Nelson. The next two days you are going to hear about the life at sea from the only Dane at the ship.
To start of with we today experienced some really exciting things, first we got the coast of north America sighted. It was so nice to finally see land again, because that was really something I struggled with at first. The fact that I couldn’t see anything beside the sight of endless sea, and therefore I got so seasick the first couple days but that’s completely over now. And a big part of that is the support from all the amazing friends I’ve made here. People are so helpful and considerate, and you really build a strong bond to people because you are “stuck” with them at she ship.
But as we had seen the coast, we a little while after sailed into New York harbor and the experienced sailors said “all hands on deck!” so we all hurried into a line with our hands at our back as we approached NY. It was so incredibly and beautiful to see New York from seaside, and some of the things we saw was the statue of liberty and Manhattan skyline. One of the best sights so far!
