The Witches is a book by Roald Dahl about, you guessed it, witches. The title says the most important thing about the book, but the book also has a lot of deeper layers.
The cover is playful and mildly interesting. It shows a little boy and a witch-hand. There is also text in a big font that says: “Beware of the witches”. It makes you want to hear more about these dangerous witches.
The main characters are a little redheaded boy, and an old grandmother. There are few pictures of the boy and grandmother, but in one of the pictures we see that the grandmother has grey hair, and the little boy has red.
The Witches is a book about a boy and a grandmother. We do not know much about them, but we know that the boy’s parents recently died. The grandmother must take care of him and tries to cheer him up with some witch stories. The grandmother and the boy go on some adventures and they even meet some witches. It is a cute book about the relationship between a boy and his grandmother.
My favorite character is the old grandma. She seams like a nice old lady who takes care of her grandchildren very nicely. She cheers the little boy up and totally distracts them from the death of his parents. She tells him all these exciting story’s and even takes him on trips. She is also one of the main characters and a lot of things happen to her.
