'Lion' movie summary

The movie Lion is about a man named Saroo. Saroo got lost on a train at the age of 5, and never returned home. His brother had a nightwork, and one day Saroo wanted to join him. Saroo thought he was big and strong enough for the job.

After persuading Guddu, his brother, they went to work. Saroo was told to wait at the train station because he was so tired. He fell asleep on a bench and woke up in the middle of the night. He looked for Guddu, but he was nowhere to be found. He walked in a train and fell asleep again. When he woke up it was too late. The train had driven many miles and Saroo had no idea where he was. He was taking care of by some sort of orphanages. One day one of the other boys from the orphanages told him, that it was a dangerous place.

Then one lucky day he was adopted by an Australian family. He lived a happy life with his new family. He even got a brother, but he had a harder time settling down with the new family. The thought of his biological family not knowing whether he was dead, or alive was killing Saroo. One day he decided to find his real family. After many days of investigating, he finally found his hometown. He met up with his mother and sister but come to find out his brother Guddu has died. He died that night on the train station, that’s why he never returned to Saroo. They were all happy to see each other again, and it’s a happy ending. The movie is based on a real life story, and at the end you see a picture of the real Saroo and his mother, which is very touching. All in all, a good, moving and beautiful movie.
