NASCAR: historie, popularitet og racing

We have many sports in the world, we know something about the most of them, but there are some of them we don’t know something about too. One of these is NASCAR, we will try to give some of our information of this sport.

The word “NASCAR” stands for National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, this sports is own and operated by family for many years ago. The sport was created by Bill France Sr. in 1947-48, in that time there were the cars not as fast and sporty like they are today, the cars was like scrap, their look was like scrap too.

NASCAR is not a famous sport in Europe or any other contents, but in the USA it is very famous, there are people who live for the sport and only earn money because they drive in this sport, just like the famous football players in Europe. There are many tournaments in NASCAR, just like the football tournaments, the three largest racing series in NASCAR are the Sprint Cup, the National Series and the Camping World Truck Series. The Sprint Series are the most popular of the series in NASCAR and in 2006 there were 4 million dollars at stake at each race, and the winner of the race got it all. The safety in NASCAR is high, but not always. In 1970 there was a man who were mechanic, his name was Smokey Yunick, he proposed that the cars was not safe enough but he came with a propose and that was called “SAFER BARRIER” but his idea had been dismissed as too expensive and unnecessary.
