India is an interesting country, for many reasons. India’s enormous size of 3,2 million square kilometers, their exceptionally high population of 1,393 billion, or just their amazing, tasty food, that’s popular worldwide.
The culture of India is different from the country where I’m from, because of some of the things Indians do, I find damn strange. An example of that could be how they see cows because in Denmark we see them as ordinary animals we butch to get meat. But in India, they find cows very different. Cows are holy in India, so that means that it’s illegal to kill them. But if you do kill them in India, you will face a penalty of up to 10 years. Why cows are holy in India is a bit strange. In Hinduism, cows represent mother earth, as it is a source of goodness, and its milk nourishes all creatures.
Another interesting cultural example of India could be its massive use of yoga. Around 35% of India’s population is equivalent to around 487 million people. Indian people do yoga because of one reason, it’s a cultural practice that promotes physical and spiritual health. That means, that yoga plays a huge role in Indians’ well-being.
