The start of Nirvana
Nirvana was an American rock band that was formed in 1985, by singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain, bassist Krist Novoselic and the drummer Aaron Burchard in Washington. The band went through a series of names, including Skid Row, Pen Cap Chew, and Ted Ed Fred. The band finally settled on Nirvana in early 1988, which Cobain said was chosen because "I wanted a name that was kind of beautiful or nice and pretty instead of a mean, raunchy punk rock name. Nirvana also went through a lot of drummers, Dave Grohl is the must famous, who joined the band in 1990. Their first CD, Bleach, got published in 1989 and it got produced by Jack Endion. The same year they signed a record contract with DGC Records, after that they began to tape the new CD Nevermind. Nevermind got released in USA in September 1991. The Album got on the first place on the American album list in January 1992. In the beginning of 1994 Nirvana made a Europe tour, but it got canceled when Kurt Cobain was found unconscious on a hotel room in Rome. It was because of an overdose. He got hospitalized, but when he got discharged he went home to USA.
