I have read a text called Los Angeles - A City of Extremes. The text is about different lifestyle in LA, and the gangs life.

I will discuss about the gang life and why the young people are in the gang groups.

There are many reasons why young people are in the gang, first off, all its money, money is the priority, many young people struggle with economic, because they maybe come from a poor family or bad environment. Maybe they have parents that are alcoholic, or drug addicted, so they must take care of them self, and the best way to get money is to be in a gang, so they can sell drugs.

The young people start to sell for the bigger ones on the streets, until they become more mature, and then they do some bigger stuff, like rob a bank or rob the rich people and even shoot or kill somebody for money.

There are also other reasons why they are in a gang, it can be the friends they are with bad influence, when they grow up in the early teenage, then become friends more important than the parents, and that’s why the young people join the gang so they can be recognized by friends, because for a teenage is a big issue if they don’t are rigorized by their friends. seeking their identity and feel the power to be important.
