Analyse af 'Dancing With Wolves' og bøffeljagten

The scenes are about a dramatic buffalo hunt, and how gender rolls are separated, compared to today. Class of culture is one of the main problems the Indians and Settlers faced, while Europeans were discovering America

All the bravest, and the ones who were capable of killing a buffalo from the tribe were gathered. They were laying on the top of the hill, spying on the enormous group of grassing Buffalo’s. They were concentrated and complexly silence, while they tried to figurate out witch ones, they should kill.

“Class of culture, has happened thousands of times in the past. In America most of them happened between the Indians and the Settlers. Most of them were horrible, viewed from the Indian side, but some of the class’s were actually positive and the Indians really came along with the settlers.”

In this clip, from the movie “Dancing With Wolves” is the first “class of culture” situation where: the group of Indians, and one settler, are spying on buffalo’s. Instead of using the eyes to spy with, is the settler using a telescope. The Indian chief next starts staring at him, with a very mysterious face. At first the settler can’t understand why the chief is staring at him, but then he realize; the Indian chief has never in his whole life, seen anything similar to a telescope. The settler quickly reeds it over to the Indian and is extremely surprised and very impressed what such a little, made out of cobber, can perform.
