This film which is based on a true story, takes place in the 1970s. During this period, many conflicts and political issues were discussed and the war between IRA and the British army had become a plague. In many cases, riots result in innocent imprisonment. The youth “Gerry Conlan” is a pity thief in Belfast. Despite the poverty and the tough environment, Gerry decides to leave home and go to London. On the way, Gerry incidentally meets an old friend “Paul Hill”. Gerry decides to follow Paul, instead of settling down at his aunt “Annie Maguire”, who is the only known relative in London. Paul has some friends who owned an almost ruined flat, but they don’t stay for long, due to riots. Gerry and Paul have to find a shelter for the night and choose the park as the best solution. In the park, Gerry meets an old man named “Charlie Burke”. They were sitting on the same bench, but Gerry notices the name “Charlie Burke” is carved on the back of the bench. Suddenly a huge explosion went off nearby. Gerry and Paul were terrified and hurried away.
Later while Gerry and Paul are strolling down a sidewalk, a beautifully dressed woman steps out of her apartment and into a car. She accidentally drops her keys, but without notice. Despite the money issues, Gerry and Paul had no way out, but to bend the rules of the authority. They break into the woman’s house and discover that she is a prostitute. They leave with 700 pounds in cash and Gerry decides to go home, to proof his false richness.
