The book is about a man called Richard, who is on a vacation in a hotel in Thailand. One evening he talks with his neighbor on the hotel, and the neighbor is telling him a story about an island, hidden away from the ocean. Richard just thinks he his crazy, but when he finds the neighbor dead next day, and sees a map with an island on hanging on his own door, he decides to find it. So he goes in next door, and invites the man and his wife to come with. When they arrive to the island, they discover that there live lots of people on the island, who also wants the same thing as him, to be away from all the tourist, and they have their own village . Richard decides to live on the island for a while, because the island is like a paradise, it got everything F.X. beautiful beach, blue water, nice temperature and a lot of weed.
After some time on the island, the people on the island warn him not to tell anybody where the beautiful island is, because they are afraid of it will become a tourist place, and also because that there are some other Thailand people living on the island, who grows weed, and they can’t handle more people on the island. But unfortunally he has already copied the map, and when some tourist suddenly arrive to the island, he is being send up to the forest to keep an eye on them. The Thailand people then founds out that there is to many people on the island, and they become mad!
