The main theme in this short story is the transition from being a child into being an adult. The transition often involves confusion. The confusion mainly occurs because of the physical and physiological changes that appear through the years of transition. Alex is about to transit from being a child into being an adult. Above-mentioned may justify and explain Alex’s disturbed way of thinking. Alex is pictured as a child at the approximate age of eleven however
