Amish people came originally from Germany and Switzerland. But on that time, there was no religious freedom in the German empire, so they were hunted and moved to U.S.A because in the United States they could have cheap land. And most important: Religious freedom which means that they could believe what they wanted, without any consequences. The most Amish stay and live in Pennsylvania and the states around Pennsylvania were the first Amish people settle down.

Most Amish are still farmers and believe in work in old fashion ways. They don’t use any kind of electricity in their houses, but can actually use for example a laptop as long as they use it outside their houses. I think it’s a silly rule, and I find it a little self-contradiction. Amish are a Christian group and they believes is to be in this world, but not being a part of it.

The Amish are dressed like in “old days” and even though they don’t want to make any attention they can’t avoid it when they are walking through the streets with clothes, the rest of the world used for over hundred years ago. Men and boy are wearing dark colored clothes, but the girls and ladies can wear any colors they want to. But still in style of old fashion way. On Sundays single women are wearing white clothes. That’s a must.
